Taking Time Out in Forrest

“Sometimes it’s important to work for that pot of gold. But other times it’s essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down the rainbow.”

~ Douglas Pagels

When life is so busy you seem to be chasing your tail, it’s always nice to be able to take time out, stop for a while, enjoy precious moments and recharge the batteries.

Over the past few months, I’ve been busy writing, writing, writing, but unfortunately not for Eco Traveller. Alongside this site I write for a few other clients, and one of them needed 60,000 words in a short time. That’s a lot of words!

Thankfully, it was all about travel, so without leaving Melbourne I’ve travelled around Australia, Malaysia, India, New York, England and Spain. Of course, it doesn’t help your wanderlust when you write about travel more than actually travelling, but it does help to add to the travel coffers for upcoming trips.

Taking time out recently meant a trip to Forrest, in south west Victoria. It’s a beautiful spot with some great running and bike trails, quaint cafes and its very own brewery.

My biggest decision of the day was which beer to try first.

ETG will be back next week with more from Victoria and beyond.

Have a great weekend!
